Default Travelling to Australia with a one way ticket?

Hi! I'm travelling to Australia in August with a holiday work visa. I only want to buy a one way ticket as I don't know when I'll want to come back (could be 3 months or might decide I like it so much I'll do the harvest and stay 2 years). Will they let me into the country with a one way ticket or will I have to have a two way ticket? Someone said if you prove you have the funds to buy a ticket, does that mean around £700 on top of the £2200 you're supposed to have? I have family members (great aunt, great uncle, and cousins of my mums) who I will be staying with for a while in Melbourne will that make a difference? Does anyone know a good website with what you need to know for a journey like this it's so confusing!
