We are travelling the east coast of australia on a budget. We already have a car ?

but are thinking of renting a campervan which is costing us $3000. then we would have to pay for camping sites. Would we be better to drive and stay in hostels or would the campervan work out cheaper for us. We are travelling for 5 weeks? Any advice would be great :-)
