| well cairns is a tourist destination. So there are a lot of jobs etc. You basically have to decide whether you like hot places or cold places. I was in Cairns in August i think it is absolutely beautiful there. I have never been to Hobart so I am not really sure what it is like. In Cairns all the people i met were very friendly and there is so much to do there! Maybe you could check on job sites to see what the employment opportunities are like in your field. good luck |

| Neither city is "better"....as the other contributors have mentioned - pick your climate. Both cities have many wonderful aspects, and I should know - I'm a Tasmanian living in Cairns. I moved because I wanted a complete change of lifestyle. I love living in the tropics and wont be moving back to Tassie but each time I go back I am reminded how wonderful and friendly the people are. I think you would be happy wherever you find yourself. |
