Is Mexico city Safe for lone women?

ok i had been to mexico city airport (not the main city) and stayed else where in mexico and i found in both places i got alot of attention being british, tall ( 6ft) blued eyed, e.g mamsita whistles etc i even had to take a photo with two police men to stop them from annoying me etc
Is the main city safe for women who are travelling alone? where are the safest areas in mexico city? is it a good idea to go to a antro or nightclub salir de noche?

Girl, you are going to be noticed anywhere in Mexico (the country) regardless because you look different and you speak a different lenguage. I do not know what will be the purpose of you visit there but be very precautious about it and do not put yourself in the wrong place at the wrong time because people will try to use any opportunity to abuse you if you give them a chance to. If you need I have a friend that have a daugther there that goes to college and she can take you to places if you need to.

Very dangeours place for a single women. Car jackings, kidnappings etc. I would not go alone!

mmmm... I live in Mexico City and it depends on the area where you go. But if you stand out (tall, blond, etc) you will be stared at, same thing would happen in most latin american countries. But do not let that stop you. I live in La Condesa which is filled with foreigners (some that fit your description) and they are quite happy here.

Mexico is a very dangerous place at present. If I were a single woman, I would not walk the streets of Mexico City alone. Perhaps you could hire an Escort or Bodyguard.
However, I suggest you go to Hawaii instead.
